Simpleview has launched an updated version of its Insights Hub platform, a digital marketing tool. The Insights Hub provides data for destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and reveals tourism industry trends. It includes a dedicated section for the latest indicators in the Meetings and Events Data Insights Hub.

Included is the reporting of North American booking and lead data by: 

  • Weekly and New Lead Volume
  • Weekly and New Definite Volume 
  • Booking vs. Cancelation Activity
  • Regional Views of Leads by Regions (available in the client portal)
  • Event Timing Related to Size of Leads (available in the client portal)

These indicators are useful for executives when preparing for board and stakeholder meetings. The data derives from the Simpleview CRM and CMS software as an industry aggregate to protect client confidentiality. Meeting sales data draws from a representative CRM sample of over 200 North American DMOs and peak rooms of 10 or more. The data is available at no cost to industry professionals and media. 

The Insights Hub presents not only what is happening currently, but also highlights early signs of recovery in the meetings market.

The ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in uncertainty around the timing of a recovery in group event activity. It seems clear that not all destinations will recover to pre-pandemic levels at the same rate. Among the questions those in the meetings industry have: have we hit the bottom? Are meeting planners booking events again? If so, when and where? The hub will help the industry more fully understand ongoing changes and be in the best possible position to respond as recovery unfolds.

The Insights Hub became a crucial resource for DMOs in April 2020 when the industry was at a standstill due to the pandemic. The updated version provides data in weekly and monthly snapshots for the Tourism & Marketing sector as well. Both areas feature an improved user experience and interactive interface, including a dashboard for filtering capabilities.

Soliciting Feedback to Provide the Right Views

When designing the Insights Hub, the team solicited input from the Sales Innovation Roundtable (SIR). Made up of Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) sales leaders around the country, the SIR meets with the Simpleview leadership team to provide feedback on strategic initiatives, enhancements to sales productivity and to support the CVB’s value discussions. Here, the team wanted to make sure the hub provides the most valuable views for DMOs internally, as well as those best for sharing with stakeholders.
