In this time of global crisis and uncertainty, we put the call out to leaders, CEOs, strategists and consultants to sit down and tell us, in their own words, what is going on and what is going to happen next in this vital global industry.

Since March we've been interviewing tourism industry leaders, CEOs and influencers from around the world.

In September we switched gears. We moved from identifying and prioritizing the issues we all face in a rapidly changing world both pre- and post-COVID-19, to investigating and sharing the tools and opportunities that are being developed to address those challenges right now.

Bright people, leaders and visionaries from around the world are hard at work future-proofing our industry and if you are listening, perhaps you were one of them

Today my guests are the founding partners of The Clarity of Place Consulting Group.

Back in September they wrote a guest post for the Future of Tourism blog. It was about the need for new tools to accurately measure and articulate the contributions that a DMO makes to its respective destination.

It's most definitely a tool we will all need in the coming months as we re-define and refine our role and function as destination managers in order to better serve our communities and marshall are ever more scarce resources.

“we speak the language of community.”

According to its founding partners Tina Valdecanas and David Holder, Clarity of Place exists to guide and measure destination contributions to community value and quality of place. In their own words, “we speak the language of community.”

Speaking the language of community, aligning with citizens and stakeholders alike, delivering tangible benefits to residents has never been more important for destination organizations; it is the future of tourism.
