With so many competing social media platforms, many destination management organizations (DMOs) have chosen to bypass marketing their destinations on TikTok and instead stick to more familiar platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
Other DMOs see immense value and potential in TikTok, and Discover Long Island is one of them. It went all-in on TikTok in 2020, an effort that earned it the ESTO 2021 Destiny Award for Social Media Campaign.
