Connecting, supporting, and thriving through collaboration, Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY) — the local visitor economy partnership (LVEP) that represents this diverse area — has unveiled its new business and LVEP site, a platform intended to further the region’s aims of economic growth and opportunity.
Launched in June 2025, this new site is backed by the power of Simpleview CMS and not only serves to promote the area’s regional visitor economy, but also its many key stakeholders and local businesses. Commenting on the launch, Chris Blacksell, deputy lieutenant chair, says, “At Visit Hull & East Yorkshire, we remain committed to supporting businesses across the hospitality, tourism, and leisure sectors. We feel that the new VHEY LVEP website will equip tourism businesses with the knowledge and resources needed to thrive.”
He goes on to say, “Designed to support partners and tourism businesses in Hull and East Yorkshire, the easy-to-use content management system and better design using more effective tools and features, has enabled VHEY LVEP to launch a website with several new sections. The new site has modernised the way we show ourselves as an LVEP and how we communicate with Hull and East Yorkshire’s tourism industry. Now, tourism businesses and partners can meet the board and the team; catch up on the latest news; discover the latest events, training, and workshops; enter our tourism awards; find appropriate networks; and much more.”
Chris adds that, “Organised by VHEY to recognise the significance of tourism to the area and celebrate the quality of businesses and individuals working within it, the REYTAs [Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards] represent the tourism industry covering food and drink, accommodation, events, and experiences and for the first time, this new site has enabled us to showcase our fantastic tourism awards fully in a way we had not been able to do previously, using all our great content, film, and images.”
Emphasising the efficiency of this new site, he says, “What used to take several hours to change on our old site, we can now do in minutes and see the results in real time, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Finally, we will be able to improve awareness of the VHEY LVEP and what we have to offer.”
Funded by Hull City Council as well as East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Visit Hull and East Yorkshire LVEP was recognised by Visit England in March 2023. With its five-year destination management strategy, it aims to leverage the power of the local visitor economy to the benefit of the wider region.
