Kerry is a place of multiple realities and many possibilities, a destination that eludes any single description. It welcomes visitors, thinkers and doers all while boasting a landscape of striking beauty as well as a proud cultural heritage. As if that wasn’t enough, this region of Ireland is a place that sees innovation, industry and business thrive and grow. In fact, Kerry isn’t just one thing; it’s many. With the launch of its new website, Discover Kerry can continue to warmly welcome its many visitors — whatever they’ve come to do — all while staying true to its distinct character.
A Site Built with the Future in Mind
From the Skellig Michael UNESCO World Heritage Site to its two Gaeltacht areas — that is, regions where Irish is the predominant language — Kerry’s deep history is ever-present. But Discover Kerry — the first Simpleview site to be built for a Destination Marketing Organisation (DMO) in the Republic of Ireland — was created specifically with the region’s future in mind. A complex project that began in early 2023, this website was unveiled last month as the newly unified place brand for County Kerry and — in keeping with all that this region has to offer — the Discover Kerry site features three separate channels: Visit, Work and Live.
While two additional microsites will be launched imminently, the newly debuted Discover Kerry site is intended to showcase this region of Ireland not just as a destination worthy of visiting, but as a thriving and attractive place to work and live. In a media release, Marketing Kerry — the body formed to lead the development of the region, a partnership composed of Kerry County Council, KerrySciTech and Kerry Tourism Industry Federation — said, “This new brand is driven by a vision for Kerry's future and a desire to share and to celebrate Kerry in its entirety — its remarkable people and communities, inspiring business success stories and its captivating natural beauty.”
It added, “By leveraging our global reputation for tourism and our warm inherent welcome, with our thriving ecosystem of innovative enterprises spanning diverse industries, sectors and as a university county, we are showcasing and promoting County Kerry as an open place to belong, to explore and to thrive.” Commenting on the debut of their new site directly, the team at Discover Kerry told Simpleview, “The launch has been received really well with great social media responses.”
