December 2015
Wrapping up our list of site launches in December 2015 are a couple of fun and fitting winter destinations in the North. The Great Lakes area is full of destinations suitable for all seasons, and Simpleview had the pleasure of teaming up with both the Greater Madison CVB and Southwestern Ontario Tourism Corporation to create the stellar websites below.
Greater Madison CVB
The Visit Madison team wanted to take advantage of their launch date to fully express what their destination represents: eclectic, intellectual, outdoorsy, current, and most importantly, accessible. Visitors can experience Madison through a web tour with beautiful imagery and explore more content with clear calls to action throughout the site. The 2016 launch of visitmadison.com was not only a responsive design that fits the destination, but more accurately it was about discovering innovative tools to connect visitors with authentic content.
Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation
For the Southwest Ontario website, the Simpleview team collaborated with the Loud + Clear agency for the new web design and CMS integration. The ontariossouthwest.com redesign includes a unique collection of adventure layouts and is heavily focused around the blog module. Part of the main navigation "trip inspirations," spotlight call outs throughout the site that lead back to the blog. The main header slide adds to the content generated to focus attracting visitors to the site.
January 2016
We have had a great start to the year, with a long list of redesigns and CMS updates. The team has been busy not only with complete website overhauls, but with transitions for clients from Simpleview's older CMS to the new version. The process is steadily seeing more destinations integrated with the best tools Simpleview has to offer.
Cheyenne Area CVB
Visit Cheyenne's new and improved cheyenne.org showcases a Vimeo Pro Integration on the homepage header slideshow that makes for an immersive, high-impact home page experience with auto-play videos interspersed with static image slides. The interactive header becomes mobile and tablet friendly by replacing the video with static images. The Simpleview design team and Visit Cheyenne worked together to create an authentic feel that highlights adventure outdoors and the overall allure of the destination.
Irving Convention Center
The new irvingconventioncenter.com was another Simpleview redesign for the city of Irving, Texas. The Simpleview design team used a responsive color theme, with different header colors and design elements for each section of the site. New features for the convention center include a nifty parallax effect at bottom of homepage, as well as the beautiful interactive floor map. The convention center also uses a tabbed social media widget to maximize the exposure of visitor experiences.
My Gay Houston, Greater Houston CVB
The My Gay Houston site was designed and built by Simpleview to match Houston's main site. That being said, the My Gay Houston site certainly has its own unique look and feel starting with the spinning disco ball, and also featuring a massive display of listings and events data that really catch the eye of a visitor. Since My Gay Houston is a microsite, it is managed using the same Simpleview CMS as the main Houston site via a "multi-site" capability. The two sites can share assets and other items, display content, images, events, etc. on their own front end URL.
Racine County CVB
The Kringle capital of America launched 2016 with a new Simpleview design at realracine.com. Racine is able to spotlight attractions with the use of video or imagery on the header slide. Events are kept up to date with in the module on the homepage and trip routes are easily planned with the use of the Google Maps Explorer!
Visit Knoxville
Perfecting the visitknoxville.com design was a team effort executed by Simpleview staff and client supplied artwork. The Knoxville creative staff has really mastered the use of assets on the website, highlighting the destination with great imagery. The homepage features such as the main blog, video inclusion in header and tabbed social feeds are sure to establish Knoxville as a go-to destination for group and individual travel. Use the convenient booking engine to plan your trip to Knoxville!
Macon CVB
The recently rebranded maconga.org is a mix of Simpleview and freelance design, built to inspire visitors with the use of strong imagery. Macon wants to promote its festival centric identity, spotlighting the cherry blossom festival in the header slide. Additionally, the site highlights social life in Macon with call-outs that open in lightboxes and event content is easily accessible through the new Blog!
Shreveport Bossier County CTB
Simpleview built the new shreveport-bossier.org and worked with Shreveport's Gorilla agency to create a responsive design. One of the most noticeable functions on the homepage is the Megawidget below the header slide that showcases additional events and attractions. Shreveport also has the ability to upload multiple header images on interiors that auto rotate. Its easy "sticky" navigation enables a visitor to easily access the main menu while scrolling down the homepage.
