There is no surprise that Digital Marketing is constantly changing. As new apps, devices, and algorithms are rolled out industry professionals have to continue to learn and grow just as fast as the market does. The question we constantly ask ourselves is, “Should we be an early adopter or wait?”. Some things are pretty obvious while others have us on the fence. In this week's GEMS we take a look at a new MOZ tool, searching by Emojis, and designing for Millennials.

What Your SEO Needs to Know:

This new update has us scratching our heads. We are not exactly sure how this is going to be helpful but we do have our guesses. What Your SEO Needs to Know:

The internet is full of speculation as to how Millennials use the internet. These “digital natives” who grew up during the birth of the internet and connectivity, have and will be a continued focus for many years in both the marketing and behavioral science realms. The Nielsen Norman Group put together a study that watched how these young adults and teenagers browse the web, use social media, and what young adults expect from content and design.

How Does It Affect Your Business:

What was found was that Millennials and young adults spend more time cultivating relationships through social media and businesses should foster that by joining in on the social conversations. Do not be too quick to jump on the jargon bandwagon though; stay away from puns and colloquialisms when it comes to content. Instead stick to content that uses simple language that will appeal to both English readers as well as those who speak English as a second language. The internet is global and so is your website.
