Simpleview proudly announces their certified recognition by the United States Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration for their voluntary, public commitment to data privacy for European Union citizens, via compliance with Privacy Shield. As the travel and tourism industry's leading provider of CRM, CMS, website design, digital marketing, revenue generation, and mobile technologies for destination marketing organizations (DMOs), Simpleview remains committed to data privacy across all products and services delivered to clients all over the world. This self-certification achievement further demonstrates that dedication.
EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks were designed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Commission and Swiss Administration to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States in support of transatlantic commerce. Privacy Shield is a mechanism that enables participating companies like Simpleview to meet the EU requirements for transferring personal data to EU countries, discussed in the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Joining the Privacy Shield is voluntary. Simpleview has made the global and public commitment to comply with the Framework’s requirements, and this commitment will become enforceable under U.S. law.
“As a responsible vendor, we realize the importance of personal data privacy, no matter who you are or where you live,” said Eric Rankin, VP of Product Development for Simpleview. “That’s why we voluntarily did the work to be accountable to data privacy for EU citizens, even under U.S. law. We wanted to be prompt in earning this certification both to show our continued diligence towards protecting data privacy and to assure our DMO clients across the globe that we’re thinking about these important details first, so that they don’t have to worry.”
