TUCSON, Ariz. (July 9, 2013) - Simpleview today announced that Peter Hedlund, who is a director of business development for the company, has decided to retire at the end of July. Hedlund's decision to retire will bring to a close a remarkable career of 30 years of service to the tourism industry in several capacities.

Peter has been an excellent advocate for the tourism industry throughout his career, including his time as a director of business development for Simpleview," said Rick Vaughan, vice president of sales and marketing for Simpleview. "Our entire team is grateful for his extensive contributions to the company, deep understanding of our Simpleview CRM system and his distinguished tenure over the years."

Through strategic initiatives and leadership efforts, Hedlund achieved notable successes while at Simpleview, including rapidly expanding its customer base in Canada and the Midwest portion of the United States. He also served as a mentor for many tourism industry executives on implementing technology and improving procedures.

Before Hedlund joined Simpleview in 2010, he spent more than 27 years working for the Minneapolis Convention and Visitors Association, with 23 of those years spent as the organization's Vice President of Sales. While in this role, he oversaw a large team of sales professionals, worked on the design and construction of the Minneapolis Convention Center and built long-lasting relationships between the association and the University of Minnesota's athletic department.

Hedlund is transitioning his role and responsibilities to Tom Farney, who previously served as an account manager for Simpleview since 2011 and handled all facets of customer service, relationship management and ongoing support for the company's clients. Farney had previously served in marketing and inventory management positions with Ventana Medical Systems in Tucson, Ariz. and Sysco in Seattle, Wash. He received his bachelor degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Simpleview clients and prospective customers will be able to meet with Hedlund and Farney at the DMAI Annual Convention, which will be held at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Fla., July 15-17.
