A Live Look at the Poconos Mountains
"People today are highly engaged with real-time updates such as weather reports and traffic cams, because they are useful and believable. Many people base their spur-of-the-moment travel plans on what they see in these camera feeds as well as long term sentiment toward the destination. The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) decided to tap into this "live feed" popularity and has put the Pocono Mountains in the spotlight. Seventeen high-quality web-based and TV cameras of which 15 are streaming have been positioned throughout the region, from Lake Wallenpaupack to Camelback Mountain Resort. Real-time video can be seen by anyone interested in what is happening in the Pocono Mountains.
Beauty shots from these feeds can be seen on six stations which include NBC Philadelphia and New York, WPIX New York, WFMZ Allentown, NBC Harrisburg and NBC Baltimore, giving the Pocono Mountains the reach of mass media TV and a message that is more believable and less expensive.
