Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) announced today that more than 100 destination marketing organizations have subscribed to their Event Impact Calculator. With this tool, DMO staff members can accurately calculate the economic value of a particular event and report its return on investment for the destination. 

This is a major milestone for the travel and tourism industry. As more DMOs subscribe to DMAI's standardized platform, calculations will become increasingly precise when determining a meeting's impact on the local economy.

Additionally, Simpleview integrated the calculator into our destination management system -Simpleview CRM - back in April. This allowed our DMO clients to combine our array of integrated products for forecasting and reporting marketing efforts, as well as data they have been entering into their CRM system, with DMAI's dynamic and credible industry standard.

"Events are such a big part of the CVB world and it will be great to have a tool that can calculate the EEI of our bookings," said Tico Soto, sales director for the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau in DMAI's release. "One of the ways our CVB plans to use the tool is as a way to show our local stakeholders what our CVB brings to the area as an economic development engine."
