The European sister of the Webby Awards honors the destination site in the Travel/Tourism category
Simpleview would like to extend our CONGRATULATIONS to the Innovation Norway destination marketing team.VisitNorway.com, their breathtaking destination website, launched with the help of Simpleview’s Experience Design team, was recently named a gold winner for Best Travel/Tourism website during The 7th Annual Lovie Awards.
The Lovie Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is a prestigious honor in Europe for denoting excellence across websites, online advertising, internet video, mobile sites, apps & podcasts, and social media. The Lovie Awards is the European sister to the international Webby Awards. It is the only pan-European award recognizing online excellence, in seven native languages. The 7th Annual Lovie Awards received nearly 1,500 entries from over 30 European countries, and over 60,000 votes in the People’s Lovie Awards.
IADAS, which selects the Lovie Award Winners, is a global organization comprised of Internet industry experts including Musician Imogen Heap, Dan Howell (danisnotonfire), Actor/Writer Stephen Fry, Vic Hayes (“‘Father of Wi-Fi”), Robin Chase (Founder, Buzzcar), Alexander Ljung, Founder & CEO of Soundcloud and Corinne Vigreux (Co-Founder, TomTom).Winners are selected for recognition based on overall experience. Websites are also selected based on excellence in the following areas: Content, Structure & Navigation, Visual Design, Overall Experience, Functionality and Interactivity.
“This honor truly highlights what our Experience Design team strives for with every destination website design: a compelling experience that’s not only visually appealing but functionally smooth for the user and captivatingly interactive,” said Lisa Love, Simpleview’s Executive Director of Experience Design. The team took part in a Destination Immersion prior to designing the site, which allowed them to truly get a feel for the awe-inspiring distinctions that places like Oslo, Bodo, Lofoten, and Tromso offer visitors. Those unforgettable opportunities then weave their way into the design of the website, delivering a visually authentic reflection of the area that is enhanced and deepened by the Innovation Norway team’s detailed, inviting, and inspiring content. In addition, with Simpleview's powerful CMS, the Innovation Norway team is able to continuously improve the site with fresh new content and inspiring imagery.
“We’re proud to be partnering with such a dedicated DMO to help bring visitors to some unforgettable destinations, and thrilled to see their website recognized for conveying an incredible experience inspiring unforgettable adventures,” said Lisa.
