VisitNorway.com, newly launched January 2016 on Simpleview CMS, has been named one of The 25 Best Tourism Websites in the World in 2016 by Skift, the largest industry intelligence platform providing media, insights, and marketing to key sectors of travel. Skift uncovers and defines global travel trends for marketers, strategists and technologists in the global travel industry. The experts at Skift said VisitNorway's homepage gives visitors "pretty much everything you need to plan a trip to Norway, which is especially helpful on mobile." They also called out the distinctive content series #SheepWithAView as quirky and distinctly representative of the country's identity.
Experience Columbus, launched in July 2014 on Simpleview CMS, was also honored on the list. Skift called the site "great on mobile and super fast," with a Millennial-influenced focus on the local and artisanal.
In addition to the Skift honor, VisitNorway.com was also named to the Official Shortlist in The 6th Annual Lovie Awards in the Web: Travel/Tourism category. Among nearly 1,500 entries received from more than 30 countries, VisitNorway was chosen for the Official Shortlist distinction, awarded to the top 15% of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement.
