Celebrating Greater Fort Lauderdale's Sunny TV Launch
This December one of our clients turned it on and turned up the volume on an innovative idea just in time to ring in a destined-to-be-successful New Year. Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau introduced a pioneering interactive content marketing initiative this month by launching "Hello Sunny TV," a 24/7 digital TV network aimed at upscale and millennial travelers. The network streams from the CVB website, www.sunny.org, built on the Simpleview Content Management System (CMS) and designed by the bureau's advertising agency, Starmark International. Programming can also be viewed via the Hello Sunny app on Apple TV (4th gen) and will soon be available on Roku.
The network, a content strategy first in the destination marketing industry developed by the destination marketing organization's advertising agency, Starmark International, will preview upcoming community events and activities, highlight dining options, and showcase the people of Greater Fort Lauderdale. The December 3 launch, announced just two days prior by Greater Fort Lauderdale President and CEO, Stacy Ritter, featured programming from the Riptide Music Festival on Fort Lauderdale beach, including music headliner interviews, behind-the scenes footage, and audience testimonials. This initial experience demonstrated just one way the planned community programming will bring travel planners into the Fort Lauderdale action through their phone, mobile device, or desktop computer.
Scheduled programming, live streaming from beach webcams, and a library of on-demand programing about Greater Fort Lauderdale encompassing topics like Fashion/Culture/Arts, Sports/Fitness, Nightlife, LGBTQ, Family Fun, Festivals & Events, Multicultural events, Tours & Excursions, Weddings & Honeymoons and more will be available. Hello Sunny TV will also feature a live weekly show beginning in early 2017. Live content will additionally be streamed through the @VisitLauderdale Facebook page. Programs will be available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese.
This impressive endeavor will truly bring Fort Lauderdale vacation planners as close to the destination and its offerings as possible prior to an actual visit. We think it's pretty exciting to see this fresh, interactive content strategy launch in time for the New Year, and are proud that our CMS platform can easily accommodate cutting edge ideas like these for DMOs as we all aim for new and successful marketing strategies to drive and support travel and tourism.
