February was a steady month for website launches and redesigns. Read highlights about each project below.
Tourism Vancouver features two different navigation styles for tourism and meeting planners. Effortless user interaction was the ultimate goal for this project, which is clearly established by the implementation of cinemagraphs throughout many of navigation and landing pages. The tourism homepage includes an interactive city map to drive traffic into Vancouver's diverse neighborhoods. This new design allows the Vancouver team to display a large amount of information in a way that is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate.
The new design for the Stillwater, OK Stillwater, OK really catches the eye by introducing the destination with a full-page, transitioning homepage slideshow. The highlights widget stands out with its unique design, spotlighting the area's best events of the season. Along with local guest bloggers, the Stillwater team uses their great user-generated content to enhance the visiting. Simpleview provided Stillwater with the full package, launching their CRM, CMS and website creative all while integrating their site with additional benefits from Destination Travel Network. The client really let us stretch our creative legs on this one, allowing us to build some homepage widgets to really capture the cool and funky items that are Stillwater.
The VisitBatonRouge.com team celebrated their website launch with a local ribbon-cutting ceremony and scavenger hunt. The site features compelling imagery on the homepage and interior landing pages that aid viewers in deciding which attractions to add to the newly implemented itinerary builder. The interactive map explorer widget allows visitors to pinpoint which part of the city is best for them to explore. With the ability to customize the start and end dates in the events widget, seasonal events such as the Blues Festival can be spotlighted for maximum exposure. Visit Baton Rouge also benefits from the revenue-generating Destination Travel Network ads that are nicely integrated in sidebars and headers across the entire website.
The Simpleview redesign of Huntsville.org was created with the new CMS platform, giving a huge expansion in the toolset available for the destination's creativity. Visitors are introduced to the site with the homepage slideshow that includes flying text call outs. Alabama's "Rocket City" is known for having the earth's largest space museum, and at one point it was home to the highest concentration of PhDs in the United States. This smart city of innovators is showcased with website features such as the footer Rocket that will blast you back to the top of the page. Visitors can easily interact with current events via the Social Media Station and the Interactive Districts Map. The Huntsville/Madiscon County CVB executed a massive launch event, which included nearly 100 partners and members of the media, and live-demoed the new website via the Periscope service on Twitter.
In addition to the websites Simpleview designed above, the website development team also moved three more websites over to our new CMS platform: Wichita, Wilmington, and the Houston Spanish language website.
