The South Florida Interactive Marketing Association (SFIMA) presented the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau website, www.sunny.org, with a 2007 South Florida Interactive Excellence (SoFIE) Award for best hospitality website at the South Florida Interactive Excellence Awards Gala, held at the Diplomat Country Club and Resort in Hallandale Beach. The SoFIE Awards recognize the finest, cutting-edge interactive marketing campaigns in the South Florida region. Sunny.org, the official destination website for Greater Fort Lauderdale, is the "go to" site for travel and hospitality information for Broward County visitors, travel trade, meeting planners, media and local hospitality partners.
"We put tremendous focus and energy into the design and usefulness of Sunny.org," says Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. "We are proud to be recognized by our peers in the interactive marketing community, and driven to continue to design a website that reflects Greater Fort Lauderdale's personality - beach chic with a lighthearted sense of energy and sense of humor."
The Convention & Visitors Bureau's animated Groundhog's Day email featuring a shivering groundhog that thaws out under the sun in Greater Fort Lauderdale generated the most website traffic in sunny.org's history, with more than 100,000 unique visits in one week. Working closely with MARC USA advertising and now simpleview, Sunny.org's look was freshened up in October 2006 to enhance popular features like the live beach cam, Greater Fort LauderBLOG, podcasts and new kids blog.
