Acquisition creates new strategic partnership, leverage for DMOs and new product potential.
TUCSON, July 14, 2010 - simpleview inc. announced today that they have acquired New Media Gateway Inc. (NMG), a company that specialized in delivery of web services, interactive marketing, and CRM and CMS platforms to destination marketing organizations and convention and visitors bureaus. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Benefits for DMOs and Both Companies
"It was obvious from the moment that we started discussing this opportunity with NMG that the acquisition made sense," said simpleview CEO Ryan George. "It's a great move for our respective companies and the industry as a whole. Our customer advisory board had pondered the concept of industry standardization as recently as April. This is a giant leap in that direction, and the timing was perfect based on new products in development and our desire to expand to new parts of the country."
The move was sparked, in part, by NMG founder Tim Storer's desire to serve a broader customer set through a spin-off company Distribion. "I wanted to make sure our DMOs were well taken care of, and with simpleview taking on our customers, they couldn't be in better hands," Storer said.
Cooperation and Partnership
Both George and Storer noted that the acquisition proceeded with a spirit of cooperation and collaboration rare in today's business climate. Not only will simpleview be honoring standing contracts, the company hired the NMG team associated with those DMO accounts to provide customers with continuity of support.
The transaction also makes Storer's new company a strategic partner to simpleview, which now has exclusive rights to resell Distribion products - including their Online Marketing Suite, Email Marketing Platform, Bid Book Generator and Presentation Generator - in the destination marketing space.
Advancing Industry Leadership
This acquisition expands market share for simpleview, which already led the industry in terms of total DMO clients and customers using its CRM system. With the acquisition, simpleview now works with more than 165 destination marketing organizations and is the only company to offer both CRM and CMS for DMOs. The acquisition also brings simpleview presence to notable clients like the State of Hawaii, Las Vegas, Dallas, Houston, Vancouver, BC and clients as far afield as Australia.
